bucket-list
I used to be a management consultant at BCG. It was a great start into my career but I realized it does not lead to the life I want to live. So I left after 3 years. I went on to build venture-backed companies as founding member of ahead & founder of Mambo.
Here is what I do now:
I am an adventurer trying to follow the greats of Anthony Bourdain & X. I share my stories on Youtube
I build schools in Nepal, Uganda & Rwanda with 264
bootstrap internet businesses so I can life a live fulfilled & fun life with my family anywhere in the world
Some core philosophies that guide me through life:
1. Life is short. if I live until 100 years, I have 68 summers left to live. I am sad when a 90yo on their death-bed says they should have tried that thing they always wanted to do. I try to avoid regret in my life.
2. ‘Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you.’ I life my life based on my own rules. I want to do what I want, when I want and with whom I want.
3. The universe is on my side. The universe conspires for me to win. Believe that everything around you is rigged in your favour. Watch what happens.
4. Delusional optimism brings you a long way. You might fall a couple of times. But it will bring you to places you could have never imagined. Without it, I would not have started an NGO or started a company in Ghana with my best friend.
5. The journey is the destination. If you don’t enjoy the daily journey of where you want to go, get off that train immediately. Reading biographies of hyper successful founders, athletes, artists made me realize one thing: The destination does not give you the satisfaction you think it will. Learn from the great people that came before you. My mantra: “I don’t care where the summit is. I love the climb”
What I want out of life
A healthy body, a calm mind and a house full of love
I want to make my 12yo proud & my 90yo not regret anything
